そば (Soba) [神楽坂生活]
伊豆長岡の両親のところに行ってきました。
新幹線と伊豆箱根鉄道で、東京から約1時間半。富士山も見えて温泉もあるいいところです。
駿河湾の海沿いにあるお蕎麦屋さんで、久しぶりの天ぷらせいろ蕎麦。
日本にいると美味しいものがたくさん食べられていいですねぇ。
I visited my parents in Izu Nagaoka where is located in 150km west from Tokyo (it takes about 1.5 hours by Shinkansen and local train), and had "Soba" noodle with "Tenpura". I am very happy to have many real Japanese dishes while I am in Japan.

3回目 (3rd time) [シンガポール]

7月で３回目のシンガポール出張です。
今回は7月29日に言われた急な出張。7月31日からシンガポール入り。
この飛行機にも7月ですでに5回乗っています。機内の映画や機内食は月替わりなので、全部同じ。
文庫本も2冊読んでも、まだフィリピン付近。結構疲れますわ。
今回は8月3日に帰国する予定。
This is 3rd time to Singapore on business trip in July, even in one month.
It is urgent order on 29/July to go on a business trip, and I flew to Singapore on 31/July.
I already took this plane (NH111 and NH112) 5 times in July, the movie and lunch on the plane are just same in one month, so I had same them very time recently.
I read 2 books of novel from Tokyo to Singapore, but the plane was flying over Philippines...
I will be back to Tokyo on 3/August in this time on my original schedule.
ラッピングジェット (Wrapping Jet) [出張]
ラッピングジェットを見ました。
いや、正確にはどちらも乗ったことがあります。(笑)
こういうのって海外ではあまりないけど、なかなかいいと思います。
そういえば、20年以上前にチューリッヒ空港で、在りし日のスイス航空の飛行機の垂直尾翼に「瑞士」と大きく書いてあるのを見たことがあります。「瑞士」は中国語で「スイス」の意味。なんで中国語で書いてあったんでしょうねぇ。
I saw "Wrapping Jet" in the Airport in Japan, and have taken before.
I think it is difficult to see such planes in foreign countries, but I like them.
About 20 years ago, in Zurich airport in Switzerland, I have seen the plane of Swiss Air which was written "瑞士" on the tail fin."瑞士" means "SWISS" in Chinese character. I did not understand why that plane was painted in Chinese characters....

まだ、シンガポールにいます。
てっいうか、前回日本に帰ったのは6月22日。26日にまたシンガポール入りして、新しい合弁会社の6月決算を終了。そして今度は増資の手続き。
今回は週末に帰国しますが、日本でもシンガポールでも仕事がいっぱいあります。次回シンガポールへ"戻って"来るのは、来週のできるだけ早い時期になりそうです。

Anyway I will be back to Tokyo on 5/July in this time, then will be "back" to Singapore soon.

けむいです！！

インドネシアのスマトラ島では、焼き畑農業が盛ん。その季節になると煙りが偏西風に乗って、少なからずシンガポールやマレーシアに影響がでます。
しかもスマトラ島の土壌は油を採るパーム椰子の成分が含まれているので、煙が大変。
ということで、ここのところ毎日すごい煙です。
Haze !! Some areas have shifting cultivation in Sumatra island in Indonesia, and the land is easy to burn with smoke because of palm tree oil. Then that terrible smoke comes to Singapore and Malaysia riding on westerly. Singapore is smoky everyday recently......

シンガポールのRaffles Hotelの裏の雑居ビルにある雑貨屋さん。
看板娘ならぬ"看板ネコ"がいます。(^^)
General shop in Singapore near Raffles Hotel. The representative of this shop is "cute cat" !! (^^)
雑貨屋さんの入り口。いかにもネコグッズがたくさんありそうですが、ネコグッズ以外のもののほうが多いです。

監視 (watch) [シンガポール]
地下鉄の出入口にあった物体。
これがなんだかわかりますか？ そう、これはカメラです。四方八方にレンズが向いています。
管理国家と言われるシンガポール。でも、ものは考えよう。悪いことを企んでいない限り、逆に政府が我々を守ってくれていると思えば、別に気にすることもありません。

Do you know what this is ? This is the pole which has cameras. There are many video cameras on this pole.
Singapore is often called "strongly controlled nation by the government". However, in the other way thinking, the government guards us from the claims. The ordinary people does not mind the cameras.

外国に来ると、日本とは違うことに戸惑うことはよくあります。
写真はシンガポールのMRT（地下鉄）のドアの上にある行き先方向掲示板。次の駅は明かりが点灯するなど、分かりやすくなっています。
ただ、この写真は左右のドアを撮ったものなのですが、両方とも同じもの。
同じもので何が悪いと思われる方は日本の鉄道の行き先方向掲示板を思い出してください。
もうひとつの写真は東京メトロ銀座線のドアの上にあるもの。よく見ていただくとわかりますが、列車の進行方向と掲示板が一致しています。
MRTのほうは、ひとつは一致していますが、もうひとつは全く同じものなので、列車が進む方向と行き先掲示板が逆方向。
確かにコストダウンにはなるでしょうが、日本はお客さんが誤解しないように、徹底的に考えてサービスをしているんですね。
ちなみに香港のMTRもシンガポールと同じように進行方向逆向きになってしまっています。上海の地下鉄もそうです。
I am confused difference from Japanese style when I am in the abroad.
One example, these photos are direction indicator on the train of MRT in Singapore. It is very clear for us to know the next station by light wink.
However, please look at these two indicators which are set above the door in one side and opposite side. These are just same indications.
On the other hand, next two photos are indication on the train of Tokyo Metro in Tokyo. The indicator is same style of MRT, but these two indicators are different. Yes, both of these indicators indicate the direction of train even these are in separate side in the train.
It is just Japanese style, then no one misunderstand the direction of the train.
MTR of Hong Kong and the underground (subway) of Shanghai are same style as MRT in Singapore.

荷物取り間違え confusion [シンガポール]
5日間だけ日本に帰っていましたが、またシンガポールに来ています。
昨日、同僚で新会社の責任者として赴任してくる人がとりあえず出張で来ました。
で、空港から電話があり「ちょっとトラブルがあった」。
どういうトラブルかというと、
日本にて乗る便に荷物を預けたが、それをシンガポール空港の回転台で引き取るとき、ちょっと遅れて回転台に行ったら、自分の荷物が出てこない。
日本で積み残したかと思ったが、最後まで残った荷物が自分が預けたものと同じようなもの。
つまり、誰かが自分のトランクと彼のトランクを取り間違えて行ってしまった可能性が大。
航空会社の係員に事情を話して、処理してもらうことに。
こういう場合、荷物を間違われたほうは、ただ待つしか方法はないんですね。
で、一晩経って荷物を間違えて持って行ってしまった人から航空会社に連絡があり、航空会社から同僚に連絡がありました。荷物は事務所に届けてくれるとのこと。
そこで、その同僚は航空会社の担当に「間違えて持って行った人の名前と連絡先を教えて」と言ったそうです。
その理由は、戻って来た荷物の中の物がなくなっていたり壊れていたら、これは航空会社の責任ではなく当事者同士の問題だから、というもの。
確かにその通りですが、航空会社は相手の名前は教えられない、もし問題があれば航空会社が仲介して連絡交換を行います、とのこと。
まぁ、トラブルは当事者同士ですが、どちらかがややこしい人だった場合、いくら責任がないとはいえ航空会社が逆恨みされる可能性もありますからね。私の同僚も会社の中では暴力的なヤツだからなぁ。（笑）
I had been back to Tokyo only 5days, and have stayed in Singapore again since 15/May.
Yesterday, my colleague who will be sent as General Manager of new company came to Singapore on business trip in this time.
He called me from Singapore airport, "I am in trouble now".
That trouble is......
He left his bag to his flight in Narita airport.
After arriving at Singapore airport, he waited his bag in the pick up point, however, his bag could not be found on the turn table. He guessed airline company missed his bag on board.
Then he looked almost same bag on the turn table and no one picked it up.
Yes, someone mistook and already picked up his bag away.
He explained such situation to airline staff, and only can do "wait" in the hotel.
Today, he received phone call from airline staff that his bag was found and will send it to office.
He thanks airline staff and asked her the name and contact number, but airline staff answered they do not inform it to him.
The meaning of my colleague wants to know the detail of that man is "he will contact that man if his luggage has any problem, that should be discussed between the persons concerned. The airline has no responsibility in this case".
The airline staff understood his meaning, but still insisted no to inform another party, and told him the airline can mediate two persons contact if some trouble occur.
It is correct way because the airline does not wish to have another trouble between these two persons.
Yes, my colleague was rugby football player in the university and is still "powerful guy" !! (^_^)

夕食 (Dinner in Singapore) [シンガポール]
現在シンガポールで合弁会社の立ち上げ業務をしています。
会社立ち上げ後に出向する予定の同僚が今いっしょに来ていますが、立ち上げの手続業務は私が主体でやっているものの、彼とは毎日行動を共にしています。
アフターファイブならぬアフターシックスはリラックスタイム。食事もいっしょですが、以前日記で書いた大きなフードコートの中での食事。毎日ローカルの食事と大きなピッチャーに入ったビールを３杯、約３リットルいただいています。
地元のタイガービールは、このフードコートでは１ピッチャーがS$16（約1,300円)、中華総菜の盛り合わせはS$2.8（約200円!!）、韓国プルコギ風焼き肉はS$6.8（約500円）。
とっても満足です。
ちょっと野菜が足りないので、次の日は野菜ばかりでした。

Then our relax time is after 6:00PM, we take dinner in stand food court near our office with beer !! We usually take 3 pitchers of beer, bout 3 litters with local dishes.
1 pitcher of Tiger Beer is only S$16 (about US$13), and an assorted local Chinese food dish is only S$2.8 (about US$2 !!), Korean style BBQ is only S$ 6.8 (about US$5). They can satisfy us enough.(^^)
